O'MALLEY ALTERATIONS On a lot in the Oakland Hills with precious usable land, the challenge was to add bedrooms, a new family room and dining room suitable for large dinner parties, as well as an updated kitchen. With space at a premium, the custom cabinets of the remodeled kitchen feature an extra level for "holiday" dishes and additional place settings. The kitchen opens onto a cozy family room featuring ceilings, high windows and skylights designed to grab the precious natural light on a hillside lot surrounded by two-story homes.
